Dr. Gopalakrishnan is a distinguished hand surgeon and Senior Consultant of the Hand Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery division at Meitra Hospital. He brings in signficant expertise in microsurgical reconstructive procedures of over 22 years. After completing his master's in Orthopaedics, Dr. Gopalakrishnan worked at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore. Later, he completed his fellowship training in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Institute for Research and Rehabilitation of Hand under the Department of Plastic Surgery, Stanley Hospital, Chennai. He worked with Aster MIMS till 2016 before joining Meitra Hospital.
